When we can help

Cases in which families contact ILMED

If even one of these sounds familiar, we are here to help.

01

Hard to communicate

A patient struggles to talk with doctors and to understand what was actually said during the appointment.

02

No appointment scheduled

Unable to get a referral, schedule a specialist visit, a test, or a follow-up appointment.

03

Unclear what comes next

After a doctor visit there are new instructions, but no one is making sure they are actually followed.

04

Disorganized documents

Discharge letters, test results and prescriptions come from different specialists in different places, and coordinating them is hard.

05

The family is far away

Family members live in another country and cannot call the HMO or accompany a relative on their own.

06

Someone needs to be there

Your relative needs someone by his/her side in a difficult moment — someone who will figure things out and not abandon them halfway.

We do not replace the treating physician and do not provide emergency care. ILMED helps you understand the medical problem, plan the next steps and carry them out as quickly and comfortably as possible for the patient.

What ILMED does

Medical coordination instead of numerous phone calls

We become the ones who keep the whole picture in mind: medical appointments, documents, deadlines and referrals.

  • 1
    We understand the situation
We talk with the patient and, if needed, with family members, and review the existing documents. We identify which issues require action.
  • 2
    We work with the HMO
We help obtain referrals, book appointments, clarify test requirements and navigate administrative procedures.
  • 3
    We monitor the next steps
We make sure necessary actions don't get lost between visits, tests, examinations and consultations.
  • 4
    We prepare for the visit
We help gather documents, formulate questions and understand what information needs to be provided.
  • 5
    We arrange accompaniment
If needed, we arrange in-person accompaniment to an appointment, test or procedure.
  • 6
    We keep the family informed
With the patient's consent we report meaningful changes, completed actions and next steps in an agreed format.

How it works

Six steps between the first contact and the report

01

Initial conversation

You can reach us by phone, WhatsApp or through our website. We discuss the situation in your preferred language.

02

Meeting the patient

The coordinator contacts the patient to learn the details of his/her condition and the scope of help needed.

03

Learn the medical history

We check that the necessary referrals, test results and examinations are in place.

04

Building an action plan

We create a clear list of steps: what we do ourselves and what the patient or his/her family does.

05

Running the process

We contact healthcare providers, speed things up where possible, prepare for visits, accompany and translate when needed.

06

Report and next steps

We plan further actions, keep the family regularly informed, and either continue or close the case.

Autonomy and consent

The patient stays in control

We help, but we do not make decisions instead of the patient. An ILMED coordinator works so that the patient remains the main participant in the process: they know who we are, what we do and why.

  • We introduce ourselves directly and act only with the patient's consent
  • We discuss every meaningful step with them
  • The patient decides what information the family sees
We work within medical ethics and confidentiality rules. The patient's personal data is shared with the family only with his/her consent.

What the family abroad gets

01

A single point of contact

One coordinator in touch instead of a dozen calls to different institutions.

02

A clear picture

You always know what is happening with the patient's health and which steps are planned.

03

Different time zones

We work on Israeli time, so you no longer have to account for the time difference.

04

Your language

We speak with the family in Russian, English or Hebrew. With doctors the coordinator works in Hebrew.

Testimonials

What families say

Dad was diagnosed with cancer, and of course I immediately came to Israel, but unfortunately I couldn't stay for more than two weeks, and it became clear that I couldn't manage the process from a distance. A friend recommended ILMED to me, and I decided to try it — I transferred the whole process to them. What can I say, it's good when professionals take over, and I just receive information about the work done and Dad's condition. Thank you, living across the ocean, I couldn't manage otherwise.

We started with one question — sorting out a referral to a cardiologist. In the end we realized there were far more issues, and moved to ongoing coordination. We have never regretted it.

You do your work with soul, especially Sasha, from the heart. Sima and I are very happy and grateful for that. My angel sent you to us on this difficult stretch of our life journey. You and Sasha make this path much easier. God sees all of this and will record it in your books; Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur are soon. Thank you.

The limits of our service

Emergency

Ambulance — 101

In any life-threatening situation call 101 (Magen David Adom) immediately. ILMED is not an emergency service and does not replace one.

What we do not do

ILMED does not replace a doctor

We do not diagnose, prescribe treatment or override medical recommendations. Our work is organization and coordination, not medical decision-making.
